Talladega

Talladega LogoPhotos from Saturday's race are hereTony Stewart ran a good race and ended up winning, which was pretty cool, since we had seats right near his pit box.  The crowd had the same local flavor as always, just at a lower density since we went to the Saturday race.  I still find it amazing how the whole place would stand and cheer every lap that Junior led.  I also found it amazing just how fast the cars run, even with restrictor plates and smaller engines.  The initial green flag of the race still gives me goosebumps when the engines fire up to 8500 RPM and they go screaming by.  I come home covered with track boogers, dirt, and sweat, and was completely beat, but it's such a blast!

I also took a few small videos with my camera, and I'll see what I can do to get them up and running on the site too.

Talladega tomorrow

Talladega LogoIt's the last weekend in April, and that means it's time for racing at Talladega.  It came up fast this year, so there's only a few of the normal race crowd heading over for the Busch (I refuse to call it Nationwide) race on Saturday.  I've got propane for the grill,  'bellas ready for cooking, the weather looks great, and the top will be down on the car.  As usual, I'll take some pictures of the local color, and post 'em.  Should be a great time at the track!

Sweet! Not a complete nerd

Not really even much of a nerd at all...

Wow, has it been 10 years?

Over the weekend was the 10 year anniversary of the announcement of Duke Nukem Forever.  For a little perspective on the true meaning of Vaporware, check out this list of everything that's happened since then.

Rubbin's racin'

IMG_0038Finally uploaded pictures from last Saturday's Busch race that I went to.  Check them all out here.

New Buffy

I already talked about one of my geek vices (Doctor Who).  One of the few other vices would be Buffy (yes I watched them all on there first run, from the first episode...).  Looks like there's going to be a new season of Buffy, but not on TV, but in graphic novel (*cough*comic book*cough*) form.  Joss Weadon is handling the first story arc, so it should be interesting to see where he takes things.

Brown Bomber

My vinyl copy of Led Zeppelin II arrived today, and I'm stoked.  Going to head home, turn down the lights, turn up the amp, and play side 2 from start to finish real loud.
